‘O kēia ka Lā Māla ‘Ohana hope o kēia makahiki.

Ua pena nā keiki i nā papa lā’au no nā ‘ailona māla. A i ‘oki hou nā mākua i ka mau’u.

Ua huki pū nā haumāna i ke kalo mai ka māla kalo. Loli ke loli, akā nui nā huli i ke kanu hou!

Mahalo nui nā ‘ohana no ka ‘oukou kōkua no kēia makahiki. A hui hou i ka makahiki hou!

(This is the last Family Garden Day of this year.

Students painted wooden board for garden signs. The parents also cut the grass again.

Children harvested the kalo from the grow bed. The kalo was overripe, but still made many new planting slips to plant again.

Thanks so much to all the families who helped this year. See you all again next year!)

Ua a’o mai nā keiki i ke ahupua’a a ma ka ‘Ōlelo Hawai’i mai nā Kumu Mākua a me ke Kumu Kamele!

‘O kēia ka huaka’i ho’okahi o ka ‘ehiku mau huaka’i no kēia makahiki i Mālama Loko Ea!

(For this field trip, the students of the Hawaiian medium program of Nānākuli went to the fishponds of Waialua.

They learned about the traditional Hawaiian land division system and in the Hawaiian Language from teachers Mākua and Kamele.

This is the first field trip of 7 for this year to this fishpond!)

Ua huki ka ‘ohana Ta’amu i nā mai’a no ke kū’ai aku ma ka Ho’olaule’a.

Ua ho’oka’awale i ka hale ho’āhu poloke a i kiloi i nā ‘ōpala.

‘A’ole pau me ka hana, akā ua maika’i ka lā!

(For this Family Garden Day, students from last year came and planted Shampoo Ginger.

The Ta’amu family pulled banana plants to prepare to sell at Ho’olaule’a.

The broken shed was taken apart and discarded.

The tasks are still not done, but it was a good day!)
