Please maintain a 100 yard safety area away from whales. Proceed with additional caution and operate at a safe speed during whale season (November to May). Aloha!!
Coast Guard Station Maui spent the last few days focusing on two boat training - towing, passing dewatering pumps, and crewmember/Coxswain proficiency. Station Maui crewmembers exercise many repetitions until they are skilled in the specific task. Training frequently allows the unit’s crews to effectively respond to marine emergencies.
