The filing period ends June 2nd to run for Stearns Conservation District Board Supervisor!

This year SCD has 3 supervisor positions up for election. Candidates are elected countywide but must reside in one of the supervisor districts up for election. These include Area 1 and Area 5 for 4-year terms and Area 4 for a special election, 2 year term.

Youth Waterfestival season is wrapping up as the school year comes to an end! Check out a few highlights from the spring waterfests we helped support!

Over the past few weeks, we joined Middle Sauk Waterfest, Paynesville Waterfest, and Avon Lake Day, teaching 4th and 5th graders about the water cycle, watersheds, soils, and so much more!💧🌱

Stearns Conservation District will be closed today, Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. We will re-open tomorrow, Tuesday May 26th. We honor and remember all the brave men and women who have served our country.

Saint John's University will be hosting a Minnesota GreenCorps member for the 2026-2027 program year! This opportunity will allow you to receive training, develop job skills, and gain professional experience!🍃

Yesterday was the State Envirothon at the Oliver Kelley Farm in Elk River! Congratulations to all of the teams that competed and a special congratulations to Sartell Highschool for placing 3rd place at the competition!

It was an inspiring day seeing the next generation of natural resource enthusiasts! All the students did a wonderful job. Hopkins took home the 1st place trophy and will move on to the National Envirothon competition in Mississippi!🌲♻️💦🌸

People concerned about water quality and soil health in Stearns County should consider filing to run for the position of Supervisor of the Stearns Conservation District. Interested applicants must file from May 19-June 2, 2026 with the Stearns County Auditor-Treasurer at the Stearns County Courthouse in downtown St. Cloud.
