Let’s look at the actual timeline of his corporate loyalty. Back in 2009, when scientists sounded the alarm on toxic BPA leaching into baby bottles and messing with infant development, Minnesota became the first state to pass a common-sense ban—a bill so popular even our Republican Governor signed it. But Tommy voted NO because he was worried about chemical company profit margins.
Fast forward to the 2022 formula crisis. While parents in communities like St. Cloud panicked over empty shelves, Tommy voted against the Access to Baby Formula Act for low-income infants and actively tried to repeal healthcare protections for newborn neonatal care. Time and time again, when a corporation has to choose between human safety and a tiny fraction of a percentage point on their bottom line, Tommy chooses the bottom line.
