✨️ P.R.E.S.S. FORWARD ✨️

It was an honor to serve as the keynote speaker for the 28th Annual North Carolina Probation and Parole Association Training Institute, centered around the powerful theme:

“Excellence Beyond the Badge — The Standard Is Us.”

I shared a message about something every leader will encounter—PRESSURE.

Pressure is inevitable, but what pressure produces in us is not. The question isn't whether pressure will come. The question is: Who will you become when it does?

My charge was simple:

P — Plant Yourself
R — Rest & Reset
E — Evaluate
S — Strategize
S — Set the Standard

Leadership isn't reserved for people with titles. Every day, through our choices, character, and conduct, we show others what excellence looks like.

So when the pressure is on, P.R.E.S.S. forward.

And don't just rise to the standard—

Be the reason the standard rises. ✨️

Grateful to the North Carolina Probation and Parole Association for the invitation and for the men and women who serve our communities every day.

✨ Be B.R.A.V.E. ✨

This summer I had the incredible honor to celebrate the incredible graduates of PATH Changers! 🎓💙

These young people are proof that where you’ve been does not determine where you’re going. Life may have thrown them some curveballs, but they kept swinging. They went through the fire—and they don’t smell like smoke! 🙌🏾

My charge to them was simple: Be B.R.A.V.E.

B – Be Flexible
R – Remember Who You Are
A – Accept Your Assignment
V – Value Your Village
E – Expect Great Things

You are not your past. You are not circumstances. You are not a statistic. Your story is still being written, and I believe your greatest chapters are ahead!

"Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart." — Psalm 27:14

Congratulations, graduates! We are SO proud of you! 🎓✨

✨️ Legal Support Expansion ✨️

Congratulations to former Chief District Court Judge Teresa Vincent and the citizens of Guilford County on the grand opening of their Legal Support Center in Greensboro! ⚖️

I am grateful to have been part of the vision to expand access to justice across North Carolina. I am also incredibly proud of the Wake County Legal Support Center, which has now assisted more than 35,881 visitors since opening. 🙌🏾

What began as a vision continues to grow—helping thousands navigate the court system with greater confidence, clarity, and dignity. 🙏🏾

✨ Child Abuse Prevention Month ✨

I had the honor of serving on the “Building Positive Childhoods” panel yesterday at the Wake County DSS Building, joining experts from across the county to discuss how we can better support our children and families. 💪🏾

We explored practical, strengths-based strategies rooted in prevention, connection, and community—because helping children thrive starts with creating safe, supportive environments. 🤝🏾

One truth that resonated deeply: building positive childhoods starts with us. We have to be healthy, whole, and intentional so we can properly care for our children. 💙

I am incredibly grateful for our social services workers who show up every day committed to preventing child abuse and strengthening families. Your work does not go unnoticed. 🙌🏾✨
