This dog was picked up by Dixon County Sheriff Deputies last night around 8:30pm. It is being held at the City of Wakefield’s kennel. The owner will need to provide documentation of ownership as well as an up to date vaccination record to claim. If dog is not registered with the city, the owner will need to register the dog when claimed. Because this is a holiday weekend and no one is in the City Office, the owner can make arrangements to pick up the dog on Tuesday during business hours by calling the city’s answering service:  402-287-2080.

All City offices will be CLOSED Monday, September 7, 2026 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.

🚫Maple Street between 3rd & 4th Streets
🚫Maple Street between 5th & 7th Streets
🚫Intersection at 6th & Maple Streets
🚫6th Street between Highland and Johnson Streets
🚫3rd Streets between Ash & Walnut Streets

All those living along these streets must find alternative parking. all vehicles shall be removed from the streets by 5am Wednesday, September 2, 2026 and remain off the streets until barricades are removed.

For your safety and that of the workers, please find alternate routes.

"It shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave standing any motor vehicle, boat, camper, or trailer in or upon any front yard area or terrace which has not been improved with concrete or asphalt as set forth in the Wakefield Municipal Code. All vehicles need to be parking in a(n) concrete/asphalt driveway, on the city street, or in the rear of the property."
