Let's get everyone out at the LETR Flame of Hope Run that starts at Ray Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton on September 12 between 10 AM (registration) and 10:30 AM (race starts). Cheer on our law enforcement officers and participants in the race! Consider running or walking as well by registering at: https://flameofhopemi.org/

From the bowling alley to the track, our Area 39 athletes give it their all. 🎳🏃‍♂️ When you participate in the Sept. 12 Fun Run, you’re cheering them on for the entire season. Let’s show them the Copper Country spirit!

Thank you so much to our incredible Houghton and Hancock Police Departments and all our local LEAs, including the Houghton Fire Department for supporting Special Olympics Michigan and LETR! Also thank you to our amazing athletes and Coach Victoria for coming out to support LETR! Finally, thanks to our Houghton Dunkin Donuts and all the patrons who came out to support Special Olympics!

Area 39 was the beneficiary of an incredibly generous grant from the Keweenaw Community Foundation for $3,219.00! The grant was funded though their Kellogg Youth Endowment Fund and the Accessibility Endowment Fund. We are so grateful for all the Keweenaw Community Foundation does for the Copper Country community and for the athletes of Area 39 Special Olympics Michigan!

Area 39 Special Olympics thanks the entire Gloria Dei Lutheran Church congregation in Hancock for its incredibly generous contribution to our athletes and program! This donation goes a long way in providing needed equipment, uniforms and supplies for our local athletes. Additionally, it helps send them to regional and state games competitions by helping to defray the costs of travel. Thank you, thank you, and thank you for making a difference in our community!
