Did you know that Wakefield residents ages 60 and over could qualify for an exemption of $750 (less Medicare tax) on their real estate tax bills through the Senior Tax Work-Off Program? The exemption is granted to residents in exchange for 50 hours of service to the Town. Applications are coming due and will be accepted through June 22.
Eligible applicants must be the owner of the property, have owned it for at least five years, lived in Massachusetts for at least ten years, and the property must be the applicant’s primary residence.
Applications and program information are available online at www.wakefieldma.gov/tax-work-off and applications are also available at the Senior Center, located at 30 Converse Street.
