This Memorial Day, the Wakefield Police Department honors and remembers the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. We are forever grateful to those who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy each day.

As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember the heroes who gave everything for our nation.

From all of us at the Wakefield Police Department, we thank our fallen service members and honor their legacy. 🇺🇸

Despite what other pages are reporting, there was no dead body found in a truck in Wakefield today.

We recveived a call from a concerned citizen reporting what he thought was a body in the bed of a truck. The vehicle was located and the "body" was determined to be a mannequin that was to be used for a fire/rescue training.

Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we honor the courageous men and women in law enforcement who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

During National Police Week, communities across the country pause to recognize the dedication, bravery, and service of police officers who put themselves in harm’s way each and every day to protect others.

It is also a time to remember and honor the fallen, support the families and loved ones they left behind, and stand beside the officers who continue to serve with strength, integrity, and commitment.

The Wakefield Police Department remembers those who gave their lives in service and extends gratitude to all law enforcement officers for their sacrifice and dedication to keeping our communities safe.
