EMS Remembrance Day

Today, we pause to honor and remember the EMS providers who are no longer with us, but whose dedication, compassion, and service continue to inspire us every day.

We especially remember Ralph Eaton and Chris Phillips — two individuals who answered the call to serve their community with courage and commitment. Their legacy lives on through the lives they touched, the patients they cared for, and the EMS family they helped strengthen.

Though they are gone, they will never be forgotten.

On April 24th, Citizens Ambulance Service had the privilege to participate in a mock crash organized by the student council at Western Reserve Schools to showcase the dangers of impaired and unsafe driving. Other agencies involved include Townsend TWP. Fire Department- Huron County, Wakeman Fire District, Huron County Sheriff's Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Huron County Emergency Management Agency, Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services along with ProMedica Air and Mobile, Metro Life Flight

When emergency lights are flashing, every second counts — and so does your attention behind the wheel.

Ohio’s Move Over Slow Down Law requires drivers to:
➡️ Move over one lane when approaching stopped emergency vehicles, tow trucks, road service vehicles, or utility vehicles with flashing lights
➡️ Slow down if it is not safe to move over

This law helps protect EMS professionals, firefighters, law enforcement officers, tow operators, and roadside workers who risk their lives to keep our communities safe every day.

A simple lane change or slowing down can save a life.

This EMS Safety Day, help us spread awareness:
