Village of Walden Police Departments National Night Out Against Crime

The Village of Walden Police Department is asking everyone and anyone to join us on August 4th, 2026 from 6 PM-8PM at Bradley Park for our National Night Out! It is an incredible opportunity to connect with members of the department as we promote crime prevention and coming together as a community! As the date gets closer, we will update you on what will be taking place!

We have been informed of recent suspicious activity on the west side of the village of a white male, slender build wearing black hoodie, blue jeans, and a pink backpack checking car doors. Please make sure your vehicle is secure, and report any activity in your area. Contact Sgt Montanaro at Walden PD if you have any questions or video.

Please keep Trooper Ondus and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

It is with deep sadness that we share the line-of-duty death of retired Trooper Mark A. Ondus, who passed on October 9, 2025, from an illness related to his assignment in and around the World Trade Center site following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Trooper Ondus served 26 years with the New York State Police, most recently in Troop T. We honor his service, sacrifice, and memory.

Trooper Ondus is survived by his wife Tammy, his sons, Charles, Sebastian, Nikolas and his daughter Tauni.

FOUND DOG! Male Dog was found on Woodruff Street. No collar, no tags. Super friendly! If anyone recognizes this pup please contact the Walden Police Department 845-778-5595. Thank you!
