Do you know a student in the 11th or 12th grade that is interested in a career in the medical field?

If so — this opportunity is from them!

Free to the parents and students, Arkansas Farm Bureau has a long history of supporting and advocating for rural healthcare. M*A*S*H (Medical Applications of Science for Health) is a program designed for students interested in a career in the medical field. The two-week camps are free and take place at various locations around the state.

Here is just a sampling of the activities and experiences offered through the M*A*S*H program:

CPR Certification Course
Suturing Class
Nursing
ER
Dentistry and Oral Health
Dissections
Sports Medicine and Casting Class
Students who attend the camps are given a unique look into the healthcare industry while shadowing medical professionals.

Tabs for a Great Cause — Let’s Finish Strong! ❤️

Back in the fall, we kicked off our Pop Tab collection for the Ronald McDonald House Arkansas & North Louisiana — and now donation time is just around the corner in April!

These tiny tabs may seem small… but they make a big impact.

Right here in Fort Smith, the Ronald McDonald House provides a true home-away-from-home for families with children receiving care at Mercy. Since opening in 2021, it has wrapped so many families in comfort during some of their hardest days.

And that’s where we come in. 🤍

What are Pop Tabs?
Those little aluminum tabs from drink cans — soda, sparkling water, etc. (just the tabs!)

They’re collected, recycled, and turned into funds that directly support families staying at the House.

How you can help:
• Drop off your tabs at the Scott County Farm Bureau office
• OR let us place a collection bucket at your business
• OR simply start saving them at home — every single one adds up and we can collect them from you.

We’ve already had such a strong start (thank you, Roger Thompson, for kicking us off strong 😉), but we’ve still got time to gather even more before April.

Sometimes we see a need and aren’t sure how to help…

This is one of those times where it’s simple. It’s tangible. And it matters.

One tab at a time, we’re helping families stay close when they need it most.

Thank you for showing up, Scott County. Truly — we live in a special place. 🤍

In March we celebrate Literacy Week and those that do so much to educate and inspire the children in our communities.

Our Scott County Women’s Committee carved out time to read at Waldron and Mansfield Elementary schools - reading to 12 different classes, hearing their excitement when learning that soybean oil is not only an oil from a plant…but also used in crayons and has also been used to create paint for automobiles, and a powerful protein snack we can eat!

From applesauce, to soybeans, to blueberries and more - our Women’s Committee shared Agricultural that we love, and encouraged sweet little minds to think outside the box and look to the future of our agriculture community.

Thank a teacher today, for educating the minds of our youth. Thank a farmer tomorrow, for paving the way for our future generations.
