On Sunday, August 23rd at approximately 1:20 p.m. The Waldron City Fire department was dispatched provide water assistance for a large brushfire on Highway 378.

Waldron City Fire joined with Northwest Scott fire department, Huntington fire department, Mansfield fire department, and the Arkansas forestry commission, worked to extinguish the flames.

A huge thank you to each of these departments for their hard work today!

COMMUNITY SERVICE! 🚒💦

After a month full of busy calls, today the Waldron City Fire Department had the opportunity to SERVE our community and have a little FUN while doing it!

Waldron Middle School students celebrated their IMPROVED TEST SCORES with a water fun day! WMS asked WCFD to come out and help fill up the water slides and pools—and while we were there, we might have joined in on a little of the fun with the kids too! 😄💦

We always enjoy opportunities like this to interact with the kids and serve our community in a different way.

Thank you to Waldron Public Schools for allowing WCFD to be a part of today’s celebration, and congratulations to the students on their hard work and improved scores!

FIREHOUSE CLEANUP! 🚒🧹

Tonight, Waldron City Fire personnel gathered at the station to take care of our own place!

Over the last 18 days, Waldron City Fire Department has responded to 15 calls. With a busy stretch like that, the station got away from us a little bit!

Tonight was a good opportunity for everyone to come together, clean up, reorganize, and get things back in order. Taking care of our station and equipment is an important part of making sure we’re ready when our community needs us.

We’re proud to serve Waldron and proud to call this firehouse home!

On the evening of Friday, August 14th @ 8:05 p.m. The Waldron City Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Willow Ridge road, to assist The Waldron Rural Fire department. Waldron City Fire and Waldron Rural, arrived near the the same time and encountered a fully engulfed structure fire, and subsequently, a large brushfire around the perimeter of the home spreading toward nearby structures.

Fire personnel worked extremely hard to contain the fire before it reached any other structures, and their efforts were successful.

This makes 8 fire calls for the Waldron City Fire department in the last three days. Please be very cautious in the upcoming days, as it is dangerously dry.

Even simple tasks like mowing can cause fires in these types of conditions.

THIRD FIRE RESPONSE for Waldron City FD on August 13th.

Just before 5:00 p.m. Waldron City FD was dispatched to Pizza Hut Waldron regarding a brush fire. Upon arrival, fire personnel encounter what was possibly an electrical fire from an outdoor receptacle. No injuries reported and no damage to Pizza Hut was sustained.

TWO FIRE RESPONSES

The Waldron city FD responded to two fires today. The first, being an initial control burn that got out of hand, the second one, an assist to Waldron rural fired department on a grass fire near pilot Prairie Church.

Please allow this to serve as a reminder that any outdoor burning is strictly prohibited and poses much danger to residence and fire personnel.

On the evening of Wednesday, August 12th @ 6:05 p.m. The Waldron City Fire Department was dispatched to assist Winfield fire department and Waldron Rural fire department on a wild land fire located in 248 W. WCFD provided man power and three trucks. No injuries reported.

A huge thank you goes to the Winfield fire department, and Walden rural fire department for allowing us to work alongside them this evening!

On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 12th, at 3:17 p.m. The Waldron City Fire Department was dispatched to park ave in regards to a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that while en route, the vehicle fire was extinguished by the hard work of the owners. No injuries were reported.

On the morning of Wednesday, August 12th, at approximately 10:40 a.m., the Waldron City Fire Department was dispatched to 1001 Danville Street in response to a reported structure fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a recreational vehicle (RV) that was fully engulfed in flames. Personnel from the Waldron City Fire Department, Waldron Police Department, and Scott County Sheriff’s Department worked diligently together to bring the fire under control and protect nearby structures.

No injuries were reported. The RV was determined to be a total loss.

The Waldron City Fire Department would also like to extend a special thank-you to the surrounding neighbors who brought drinking water to personnel working on the scene. Fighting fires in extreme heat can be especially dangerous and physically demanding for emergency personnel, and your kindness and support were greatly appreciated.
