NorthWest Bergen Regional Health Commission NWBRHC provides a variety of contracted public health services for 12 towns in Bergen County.

NWBRHC serves as the Health Department for the Commission towns of Midland Park and Waldwick as well as contracting with Emerson, Hillsdale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Mahwah, Montvale, River Vale,Saddle River, Washington Township and Westwood .

🥕 Bergen County Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program is now available! 🌽

Bergen County seniors age 60+ who meet income eligibility guidelines may qualify for a $40 benefit to purchase fresh, New Jersey-grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey at participating farmers markets.

✅ Must be a Bergen County resident
✅ Must provide proof of age, residency, and income when applying
✅ Benefit amount: $40 per eligible person
✅ Available on a first-come, first-served basis

2026 Monthly Income Limits:

• Household of 1: $2,461 or less
• Household of 2: $3,337 or less

Applications are accepted in person at scheduled locations throughout Bergen County. For more information, call (201) 336-7400. Groups of 5 or more should schedule an appointment by calling (201) 336-7462.

Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission and the Midland Park Board of Health will host a FREE Drive-Thru Rabies Vaccination Program on Monday, May 11, 2026, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm, Midland Park Municipal Lot, 280 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park. Residents from any New Jersey municipality are welcome to bring their pets to our programs.

Dogs must be on leashes (no retractable leashes), and cats must be in carriers; both dogs and cats are welcome at any time. Please note that rabies vaccinations are required for ALL dogs and cats by four months of age (but no less than 12 weeks). Please bring pet tags and/or proof of previous rabies vaccination.

Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission will host a Food Handler Training Course on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Waldwick Public Library, 19 E. Prospect Street, Waldwick.

The cost for this class is $20 per person. Topics discussed include basic food safety, personal hygiene, cross-contamination, time and temperature abuse, and cleaning/sanitizing, and the new FDA updates.

Adequately training staff is a crucial part of a restaurant’s success. When staff is trained, you create a positive workplace, guests have a better dining experience, your restaurant runs more efficiently, and sales improve. You also protect your business and reputation. Investing in training employees is an investment that pays off!
