This week, we kicked off our 6th Junior Police Academy class!

Our recruits have already had an exciting and educational start to the week, including demonstrations from the Waldwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Waldwick Fire Department, along with the opportunity to meet and speak with the Mayor.

The class also visited the Bergen County Police Academy and toured the 911 Dispatch Center, where they learned about emergency communications. To wrap up the visit, recruits participated in the emergency vehicle operations course inside one of our police cars.

Flying a drone near a stadium is illegal, dangerous, and can put fans at risk. Leave your drone at home. Safety is our priority—every fan, every match. A comprehensive, multi-layered security plan, including advanced counter-drone technology, is in place to protect attendees.

If you fly illegally, you will be identified and prosecuted. Penalties for reckless, careless, or criminal drone use can include:
• Fines exceeding $100,000
• Criminal charges
• Incarceration
• Confiscation of your drone

🚧 Traffic Advisory 🚧

The County of Bergen will be performing drainage improvement work at the Franklin Turnpike & East Prospect Street intersection from June 9–12, between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM daily.

⚠️ Expect traffic delays and possible lane restrictions in the area.

🚗 Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and consider alternate routes if possible.

2026 marks the 43rd Annual New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run. This morning, officers from the Waldwick Police Department proudly carried the “Flame of Hope” through town.

The Bergen County Police Chiefs Association and Bergen County PBA Conference hosted their annual Police Memorial Service this morning. We will always a honor and remember the fallen police officers of Bergen County. We will never forget.

Beginning Monday, May 11 through Wednesday, May 13, the intersection of Franklin Tpke. and East Prospect St. will be CLOSED daily from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM due to County of Bergen drainage upgrades.

A marked detour will be in place. However, motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the area and plan an alternate route.

Please plan ahead and expect delays. Thank you for your cooperation.
