Please join us in wishing Officer Goodgame congratulations on his Reinhardt University Police Academy graduation this week! We are honored to welcome him into our department as a full-time officer in the near future. Officer Goodgame has already shown so much respect and passion for his Reinhardt community and we can't wait to see what else he does to continue these efforts.

Congratulations to all of the other recruits and we wish you luck at your future departments!

Reinhardt University Department of Public Safety and Campus Police Caffeinated Cops Event: September 4, 2026

We invited our students and community to enjoy some coffee and connection. We partnered with multiple departments within Reinhardt University and we also invited some Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputies to join us to show our strong working relationship.

Once again, thank you to Chief Deputy Tommy Pinyan and Captain Jay Baker for coming to speak with our students. During the event, we were also able to hear from Security Officer Goodgame as well. This is another step towards engaging with our community on a deeper level. We want to enourage growth within our department, our student body and with the professional relationships with other law enforcement departments.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event happen! Thank you to everyone that attended! Keep an eye out for additional events in the future on all of our social media platforms!

Our officers have gotten a lot of questions about the open hours for all of the athletic areas so we thought we would post an update! Everything on the other side of Hwy 108 including the Gym, Field House, Fields, Gravel Lot, Parking lots, Trails and any other Reinhardt University property over there closes at 10PM!

Exceptions: If you are directly accompanied by a coach, you are permitted to be in these facilities after hours. This would also include any games that aren't complete prior to 10PM. The Batting Building is available for practice if you are issued the code and are conducting athletic related activities.

These rules are in place to protect the facilities/equipment and ensure safety after hours. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out and we can connect you to the proper individuals in the Athletic Department!

Parking Reminder:

Our officers have been busy writing tickets for on campus parking this week. We understand that this process can be frustrating, however the rules are in place to provide the safest and fairest available parking.

Every student, staff or faculty member of Reinhardt University has to register their vehicle through Public Safety and they will be issued a parking permit sticker. The sticker has to be placed in the bottom left hand corner of your rear window. The color of the sticker correlates with an assigned parking lot.

We offer a few open lots such as FPAC, Black Box Theater and the Gym! If the spot or parking lot is labeled "Visitor" those spaces are for individuals that do not have a formal connection to Reinhardt University. If you have a guest that is spending the night or going to be here frequently we ask that you have them come to the Public Safety office for a formal visiting parking pass.

The spaces with handicapped parking signs are reserved for those with a State-issued permit or tag that has the individual's name and usually includes an expiration date. The individual must be in the vehicle in order for the permit to be used.

If you have any questions please come to the office and speak to us! We have plenty of maps and are willing to discuss the policies and procedures surrounding parking violations and expectations!
