Investigators with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Oconee County Rural Fire, are currently investigating a fire that damaged multiple storage buildings, and multiple boats, at a facility today near the Oconee/Pickens County line.

E-911/Communications received a call at around 9:07am this morning in reference to a report of a fire and heavy smoke at a boat storage facility on Greenbrier Road and Fall Creek Road. Multiple fire departments and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Deputies shut down Fall Creek Road at Jess Crenshaw Road for a time to assist and provide safety for fire crews who responded to the fire.

Investigators assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau responded to the scene in order to conduct an investigation. The investigation is in the early stages and there is no further information to share at this time.

‼UPDATE as of 6/18/2026, 11:45am: The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is happy to report that Ashlynn Abryl Montes has been located and is safe!!

‼The Missing Person’s Unit of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office (SC) is asking for the public’s help in their search for a missing, endangered 15-year-old girl.‼

Ashlynn Abryl Montes was reported missing by a family to the Sheriff’s Office this morning. She was last seen at around 10pm yesterday, June 17, 2026, at her residence on Spartan Drive, Westminster, SC.

Ashlynn is possibly wearing a pastel purple short sleeve shirt and gray sweatpants. She is approximately 5'2" tall, weighs approximately 107 lbs., has black hair with faded pink bangs and brown eyes.

The Missing Person’s Unit was notified, and Deputies have been following up on any information that has come in regarding potential locations for Ashlynn.

The Missing Person’s Unit considers Ashlynn to be endangered due to her age as well as concerns that she did not take her required daily medication with her when she left.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in an April 2026 property crimes investigation in which a lawn mower and trailer were stolen from an address in Tamassee.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking to identify the vehicle in this incident as well as any persons of interest in this investigation.

On the afternoon of April 6th, a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to an address on Burrell Drive in reference to a report of a Grand Larceny. After arriving on scene, the Deputy made contact with the victim and began an investigation.

Evidence obtained during the investigation revealed that at 10:50am that morning, two white males got out of a black Ford SUV and hooked up a trailer to the SUV which contained a John Deere Zero Turn Lawnmower and a Stihl W**d Trimmer. After hooking up the trailer to the vehicle, the two males get back into the SUV and drove away. The trailer has a blue bottom and wood paneling on it.

The case was turned over to a Property Crimes investigator assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau. The Investigator is attempting to gain any information that may identify the two males involved as well as information on who may own or be in operation of the SUV.

A Property Crimes Investigator with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in an investigation of a stolen UTV that was taken from an address near Salem this week.

Yesterday morning, a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to an address on Alexander Road in reference to a 2025 Kawasaki Mule MX SE Model that was taken from the property. The victim reported that the last time he saw the UTV was late Tuesday evening of this week.

The Kawasaki Mule is silver and black in color and as a value of approximately $17,500.

(UPDATE: The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is happy to report that Colton Andrew Evatt has been located and he is safe.)

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in locating a missing Seneca man, 22 year old Colton Andrew Evatt, who was reported missing by a family member to the Sheriff’s Office late Monday afternoon. According to the family member, Colton was last seen or heard from last Friday, May 29th.

According to information obtained by the Sheriff’s Office, Colton was reportedly at the Ingles location in Westminster last Thursday, May 28th. Colton may also have been in the area of Friendship Road and Martin Creek Road near Seneca.

Colton was last seen wearing jeans and boots. Colton does have medical conditions that are required to be treated with medications.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of 22 year old Colton Andrew Evatt, please call 911 immediately. The S*x Offender Registrar's Office at the Oconee County Sheriff's Office (SC) will be closed June 1 - June 5, 2026 during which, there will be no available dates for individuals needing to register for the S*x Offender Registry. Normal registry times will resume on June 8, 2026.

**This does not affect the current S*x Offender Registry itself and the registry will available for viewing and searching. Only those individuals who need to register are affected and will need to schedule their registration around these dates.**

Memorial Day is a time for us to come together as a nation to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today, and their devotion to duty and love of country will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends today, we also pause to reflect on the tremendous cost of freedom and to remember the heroes who gave everything in defense of our nation. We are forever grateful to those who answered the call to serve and made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of others.

From all of us at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, we extend our deepest gratitude and respect to our fallen service members and to the families who continue to carry their memory forward. May we always honor their legacy, and may we never forget their sacrifice.

The men and women of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office extend our deepest condolences to the Greenville City Police Department, the family, friends, and loved ones of Sergeant Ashley Munoz following her tragic passing in a motor vehicle collision.

During this incredibly difficult time, we stand beside our brothers and sisters in blue in Greenville and keep them in our thoughts and prayers. Sergeant Munoz’s service and dedication to her community will not be forgotten.

We also ask for continued prayers for Sergeant Diana Munoz, who was also involved in the collision and severely injured, as she begins her road to recovery.

May God bring comfort, strength, healing, and peace to everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
