**Join Us in the Hive: SC 4-H Honey Bee Project Now Open**

Registration is now open for the SC 4-H Honey Bee Project, made possible through our partnership with The Bee Cause Project, who understand that when we teach young people to care for pollinators, we're teaching them to care for the intricate web of life that sustains us all.

Every participant receives project support materials and a membership to the SC State Beekeepers Association. This is an invitation into a community of people who've learned that beekeeping is as much about patience and observation as it is about the sweet success of honey.

This project opens a door. What young people discover about ecosystems, responsibility, and the small actions that ripple outward supports 4-H youth in feeling Beyond Ready for work & life.

Carolina Yards Spring 2026 Online Course
About the course: Carolina Yards was designed to assist and guide South Carolina homeowners in conserving water in their landscapes and making positive changes to the environmental quality of their yards, neighborhoods, and surrounding waterways. For years, Carolina Yards has been active across SC in various forms, including yard certification, gardening events, demonstration sites, recognition items, and event series. Each spring, South Carolina residents are invited to participate in a 10-week, self-paced cohort course that provides an in-depth exploration of the 12 Carolina Yards Principles. Participants will engage in online settings and a face-to-face opportunity with a statewide learning community, interact with knowledgeable course facilitators, and apply what they learn to their own landscapes. The course includes guided use of the Carolina Yards Workbook, opportunities to assess and design your yard, see other Carolina Yards in action at the optional field day and pursue an official Carolina Yard Certification upon completion.
