Today marked a major milestone for Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 4 as we officially celebrated the ribbon cutting for Station 11 on South Satsuma Road.

This project represents our continued commitment to protecting the growing communities we serve. Station 11 will help us provide faster emergency response, better firefighter readiness, and improved service for residents across the district. Our newest station since 2013!

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who made this day possible:
• Our firefighters and staff
• Board members, elected officials, The Chamber of Commerce
• Contractors, engineers, and project partners
• South Satsuma Baptist Church and Quality Engineering for providing lunch
• Our South Satsuma Rd neighbors along with all citizens of LPFPD4 for making this possible

The support shown today reminds us that public safety is truly a community effort.

Our Family Protecting Your Family.

The long-awaited day is finally here! If you around South Satsuma tomorrow at noon, stop in and view our new Station.

The cost of firefighter safety equipment has more than doubled.

In 2010, an MSA Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) cost approximately $4,000. In 2025, a new MSA G1 SCBA costs approximately $9,000.

SCBAs are critical life-saving equipment that allow firefighters to work in smoke-filled and hazardous environments. As equipment costs continue to rise, LPFPD4 remains committed to protecting both our firefighters and our community.

Each LPFPD4 fire engine is required by the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana (PIAL) to carry approximately $25,000 worth of fire hose alone.

That’s just one piece of the equipment carried on every apparatus. Firefighters also rely on lifesaving medical equipment, SCBA air packs, hydraulic rescue tools, ladders, nozzles, and protective gear to serve our community every day.

As costs continue to rise, maintaining the equipment and resources needed to meet PIAL standards and protect our growing community becomes increasingly important.

When you see a fire engine, you're seeing much more than a truck. You're seeing a significant investment in the safety of our residents, businesses, and firefighters, as well as the equipment and training necessary to provide reliable emergency services when they are needed most.

Investing in Our Community: Station 7 Expansion Underway

To keep pace with the rapid growth south of I-12, renovations are now underway at Station 7 (Walker South Road at Joe May Road).

The station is being remodeled to accommodate an additional emergency apparatus and expanded personnel capacity.

This upgrade will allow us to deploy more resources and first responders directly from your neighborhood when seconds matter most.

Construction is expected to be completed in early 2027.

This project is made possible through your continued support of our department’s millage, which helps fund critical infrastructure improvements like this.

Thank you for investing in the safety and future of our community.

The amount residents depending on LPFPD4 for fire protection, rescue services, and emergency response has more than doubled in size since 2000. As the demand for emergency services grows, LPFPD4 remains committed to providing fast, professional service to every resident who calls for help.
