Members of the Walker Fire Department spent the evening sharpening their skills on pump operations and relay pumping. Utilizing our apparatus and portable tanks, crews practiced establishing a steady water supply and moving large volumes of water efficiently—critical skills for rural and long-distance fire suppression.

From drafting operations to coordinating relay setups, this hands-on training ensures our team is ready to deliver water where it’s needed most when seconds count.

Great work by everyone involved in continuing to build knowledge, teamwork, and preparedness to better serve our community.

🚒 New Truck in Service at Walker Fire Department 🚒

The Walker Fire Department recently placed a brand-new fire apparatus into service, and we honored the long-standing fire service tradition of pushing the new truck into its bay. This tradition dates back to the days of hand-drawn equipment, when firefighters would physically push the apparatus back into the station after returning from calls.

Today, our members continued that tradition as we welcomed this new piece of equipment into our fleet. We are proud to add this apparatus to better serve and protect our community. Investments like this ensure our firefighters have the tools they need to respond safely and effectively when our community calls for help.

📸 Be sure to check out the photos of the new apparatus below!

Tonight the Walker Fire Department gathered for our annual dinner, taking time to reflect on the past year and celebrate the dedication of our members and the support of our families. It was a great evening recognizing the hard work, commitment, and countless hours our firefighters put in serving our community.

We are grateful for the families who stand behind us and support the time and sacrifices that come with serving on the department. Nights like this remind us how fortunate we are to have such a strong fire department family.

We also recognized several members for their years of service to the Walker Fire Department. Pictured from left to right: Fire Chief Cody Voss, Glenn Fultz (20 years of service), Sean Snitkey (30 years of service), James Voss retiring after 16 years of service, Will Sherbon (35 years of service), Johnathan Wolff (10 years of service), Lucas Voss (5 years of service) and not pictured, Matt Tison (5 years of service).

Congratulations to everyone recognized tonight, and thank you for your continued dedication and service to the Walker Fire Department and the community we proudly protect.
