On the next episode of the Made in Walker podcast (full episode drops Monday 8/31), Walker's Police Chief & our Fire Inspector talk about how our public safety team was able to join together to create a water rescue team.

With six miles of the Grand River flowing through our city, creating this team had been a long time goal - then made a priority by the late Chief Shoultz.

It's been an honor to bring his vision across the finish line, knowing we are now better equipped to serve Walker's residents and visitors.

The police department shares its space with our Station #1, as well as 59th District Court.

As each department experiences growth - the space inside dwindles.

Raccoon 🦝 Rescue!

Last week, Red Shift at Station 3 received a note from the Senior Neighbors group, whom we share the fire station with, regarding some critters trapped in our dumpster.

It wasn’t Jimothy visiting from Seattle. It wasn’t the Recycling Raccoons from Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.

Just a pair of furry bandits who dropped in for a snack but couldn’t get back out.

We were happy to lend a helping hand and get them back on their way. 🐾
