Last night, Livingston Parish Adult Education celebrated our Spring 2026 graduates, and what an incredible night it was! We had our largest graduation ceremony to date, with 38 graduates walking across the stage to receive their High School Equivalency Diplomas.
The highlight of the evening was hearing from our guest speaker, a former graduate who walked across that same stage just one year ago. Her story was powerful, inspiring, and a beautiful reminder of what is possible when someone refuses to give up.
I know I speak for every one of my coworkers when I say what a privilege it is to play even a small part in these life-changing moments. Someone made a comment last night that has really stayed with me: traditional high school students generally expect to graduate. Many of our students come to us believing they never will.
Watching them prove themselves wrong is something I’ll never take for granted.
