Welcome to Blueville! At the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company #11, we take pride in our blue apparatus and being able to remain 100% volunteer all of these years. This pride goes all the way back to 1908 when interested citizens organized a meeting in Stauffer Hall to form some type of fire protection. The ensuing meetings resulte

d in the formation of the Walkersville Water Company in 1909. In synchronization with water pressure for fire protection, the Walkersville Hose Company was formed using a hand-drawn hose reel. The original fire hall is located on West Pennsylvania Avenue near Main Street. A re-organization of the old company was effected in 1939. This resulted from the enterprise of many of the company members and spurred on the Alton C. Whitmore, then a resident of Walkersville and President of the Frederick County Firemen's Association. The Fire Company then moved its quarters to the building now being used as the Town Hall on Frederick Street, until 1989 when it moved to the current firehouse. In more recent years, we continue to provide an excellent service to our community and remain 100% volunteer. We are always looking for new volunteers to continue this tradition. 🚒 Weekend Recap 🚒

This weekend was filled with 🧑‍🚒emergency calls, 🧑‍⚕️trainings and community 💙 Our volunteers responded to 12 emergency calls for service 🚨

We also joined the Mt Pleasant Ruritan Club for their community day! 🍂🍁 This community group is rooted in volunteerism and giving back. Did you know they keep the street lights on throughout Mt. Pleasant? And they giveaway thousands in scholarships! Check them out!

We are very proud to congratulate member Cadence Offutt on successfully completing her observer packet and minimum riding requirements earning the title of Probationary Firefighter. 🧑‍🚒 Cadence also holds dual membership with Woodsboro Volunteer Fire Company

🚒This process is designed to allow trainees to respond to incidents along with a crew to gain experience and knowledge prior to becoming a released Firefighter. 🚒

All of our Probationary Firefighters will be taking Firefighter 1 class this fall through Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute - NCRO

You've been asking and now is the time!! We are looking for vendors for our Fall Festival!! The event will be on Sunday October 11th from Noon until 5pm. 🍁🍂Vendor spaces will be outside only. Spaces are $30 each for a 10foot by 10foot area. Tables are also for rent at $10 each.

🚒HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!🚒

We have just been told that Maryland State Police - Aviation Command Trooper 3 helicopter will be at our National Night Out at 6pm!!! That's TOMORROW NIGHT AT 6PM!!! 😁Barring any emergency missions of course. They will have a short visit before attending other National Night Outs as well.⏰ Set you alarm now!

☀️☀️ It’s a beautiful day for training! ☀️☀️

🧑‍🚒Our volunteers started the day checking over all our apparatus and equipment 🚒 We take immense pride in our apparatus which our community helped us purchase 💙

🚨We continued the morning with rural water training. Do you live in an area with out hydrants? This is how we will get water in those areas of the county 🚒🚨
