At approximately 1:20 pm this afternoon, East Concho Volunteer Fire Department and Wall Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire, with the first arriving East Concho unit confirming a working fire.

Mutual aid from Quail Valley Volunteer Fire Department and Goodfellow Fire and Emergency Services was requested for manpower and a water shuttle operation. San Angelo Fire Department Paramedics also responded and provided medical standby and rehab.

Crews tried to enter the structure but had to withdraw due to extreme heat, multiple explosions, and limited water supply. Wall VFD operates under the priorities of life safety, incident stabilization, and property conservation.

Thank you to Tom Green County Sheriff's Office - Texas, Concho Valley Electric Cooperative, mutual aid partners, and all the volunteers who responded.

πŸ”₯ Vehicle Rescue Course πŸ”₯

This past weekend, paid and volunteer firefighters came together for the 20-hour TEEX Common Passenger Vehicle Rescue Technician Course, jointly hosted by Wall and Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Departments represented included Bastrop/Travis ESD1, Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department, East Concho Volunteer Fire Department, Midland TX Fire Department, San Angelo Fire Department, Wall Volunteer Fire Department, and Water Valley Volunteer Fire Department Inc.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you receive a paycheck or not. We answer the same calls, face the same risk, and share the same commitment to serving our communities. Training together like this ensures we’re all ready when it matters most.

Thank you to our Fire Instructors: Ryan Born, Sontos Chavez, Doug Taylor, Erik Carrizales, and Josh Rowe.
