These individuals served in a wide range of roles, including classroom helpers, field trip chaperones, food backpack delivery drivers, afterschool program assistants, and more.

“All our schools found important and unique ways to get parents and the community involved, and we are grateful that our volunteers answered by surpassing all our expectations,” said Beth Swanson, Volunteer in Person Coordinator.

2025-2026 Volunteer Highlights:
• 12 WWPS school locations engaged volunteers
• 15 volunteers each contributed 100+ hours
• 81 volunteers contributed 20+ hours
• 376 volunteers gave 15 minutes or more of their time
• 7602 total volunteer hours recorded districtwide

Walla Walla Public Schools is proud to foster strong school-community partnerships as detailed in Goal 4 of the Vision 2030 Strategic Plan and looks forward to building on this momentum in the 2026-2027 school year. Thank you to every volunteer for making a difference!

District Names 2025-2026 Staff Achievement Grant Recipients!
Celebrating dedication, excellence, and a commitment to student success

Walla Walla Public Schools is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025-2026 Staff Achievement Grants, an honor reserved for those who exemplify the very best of the district. Established in 1988, this long-standing program recognizes teachers and support staff for superior performance, innovation, exemplary leadership, and exceptional service to students and colleagues.

Staff Achievement Grant recipients are nominated and selected by their peers, a reflection of the deep respect and admiration they’ve earned through their daily contributions. Each honoree receives a $1,500 stipend and five days of paid release time to pursue professional growth opportunities, an investment in their continued impact and inspiration.

"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to these incredible professionals for their unwavering commitment to our vision of Developing Washington’s Most Sought-After Graduates," said Superintendent Dr. Ben Gauyan. "Your dedication uplifts our schools, enriches our students' lives, and strengthens our entire community."
