This afternoon we were dispatched to a reported tractor fire. Upon arrival it was found to be just hot and smoking breaks. The operator used an extinguisher before we arrived. Crews applied water to aide in cooling the brakes on the spreader.

We are pleased to announce that we have received the 2026 State 50/50 grant. These funds will be used to purchase new hose, turnout gear and portable radios for firemen. This equipment will allow us to better serve our community and the surrounding areas.

Huge thank you to Ashely Lovette for organizing and writing the grant for our department.

This morning at 10:40 am NEVFD was dispatched to a reported tree on fire. Engine 9 arrived on scene and found a fire in a tree. Engine 9 requested water and man power to saturate the tree. Once the fire was brought under control all NEVFD units cleared and returned to the station.

This afternoon at 3:51pm North East Fire along with Wallace Fire, Teachey Fire and Rose Hill Fire were dispatched to a residential structure fire. Rose Hill Car 3 arrived on scene and found a camper fully involved. RH Car 3 established command and assigned a defensive fire operation. North East Engine 1, Engine 9 and Tanker 2 arrived on scene and began defensive fire suppression. All other units staged on the highway per command. The fire was called under control and all units were released by command.

This afternoon at 4:28 pm NEVFD was dispatched a to brush/woods fire. Upon Engine 1 arriving on scene it was discovered to be a controlled burn. Engine 1 canceled all units including Brush 9 and Tanker 2 who were en route.

This morning at 7:25 am NEVFD responded to a 10-50 vehicle in the ditch with 1 PI. Units arrived and assisted getting the patient taken care of with Medic 3. Units controlled traffic until Medic 3 left for the ER. Fire units cleared after speaking with SHP advising the vehicle was off the roadway.
