Two new members have joined Wallace Fire & Rescue

We’re thrilled to introduce John Niles, who joins us from the North Platte Fire Department, where he has served for the past 22 years. John brings a wealth of knowledge in both EMS and firefighting, and we’re so fortunate to have his experience and leadership on our team. Welcome, John!

We’re excited to also welcome Ryan Griffiths, a longtime resident of Wallace, to the Wallace Fire Department. This is Ryan’s first time in the field, and he brings a fresh sense of dedication and eagerness to serve his community. We can’t wait to see his growth and contributions as he trains with us. Welcome, Ryan

After the Cottonwood and Morrill fires Henderson Bank and Nebraskaland Bank presented checks to local volunteer departments and WVFD was included. We would like to thank them for their generous donation and support and our local community who support WVFD.

Wallace VFD sent 4 firefighters to Arthur Co for mutual aid for Paxton yesterday. They all have worked through the night. This morning 4 firefighters went out to relieve the crew that work all night. Please say a prayer for our firefighters and those affected by the fires! We are so lucky to have the equipment we have to be able to help our surrounding departments. A lot of you question “Do we have enough firefighter/EMT to cover our district when called for mutual aid?” The answer is yes we do. We never leave our district short. We have firefighters/EMT stay back to cover our own district.

On Saturday April 4th you may have noticed emergency lights going. There was no emergency but several members gathered together and did a training on our big tactical tender on tending water, one man operation on fire suppression and initial attack, water management and pumping.

An immediate evacuation order has been issued for residents of Farnam Thursday night as a fast-moving wildfire threatens the area.
