We’re thrilled to share that the Wallace Fire Department's new building is officially up and running! Today, at 3:54 PM, our dedicated crews responded to their very first call from the new facility, a motor vehicle accident on Jonestown Rd.

This exciting milestone marks the inaugural response from our new station and the 223rd emergency response of the year.

Last night we started off the night around 8:30 pm with one vehicle accident on NC 41 Hwy with one patient. Arrived on scene to assist with patient care and traffic control. Patient walked away with just a little bit of pain after his tire blew and made him lose control.

10:15 pm we were dispatched to a 2 vehicle accident on S Norwood St. Arrived on scene to assist EMS and Wallace PD with patient care and traffic control. One patient transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Everyone walked away okay.

This morning we were dispatched at 7:50 am along with Teachey for mutual aid to storm damage on Old Wilmington Rd with a power line hanging down in roadway. Both departments provided road blockage and waited until town of Wallace could take over road closure. Cleared scene around 8:50 am

Yesterday afternoon around 5:00 pm we were dispatched to Glendale Apartments in Wallace to a commercial structure fire. Upon arrival Wallace E6 found heavy smoke showing to the single story apartment building and began an aggressive interior fire attack. Seconds later Teachey arrived to assist with fire attack and water supply while Rose Hill assisted with fire ground operations. Northeast and Penderlea arrived very shortly after and assisted with fire attack, ventilation, and overhaul.

Great job by all departments involved and Wallace Fire wants to thank all of our neighboring departments, we couldn’t have done it without y’all!

The Atlantic hurricane season is upon us. In preparation, Wallace Fire conducted hands-on water-rescue and boat-operation exercises this evening.

Hurricanes and tropical storms frequently produce severe flash flooding and storm surges. To prepare for this, the Wallace Fire Department conducts drills and protocol reviews ahead of and during the hurricane season.

We were happy to serve alongside our fellow fire departments this afternoon. A tremendous effort by all involved.
A big shoutout to Poston Baptist and all the folks that volunteered behind the scenes and took care of the first responders. Our good friends at Pizza Corner of Wallace were a tremendous blessing donating pizzas for both first responders and those displaced from their homes. This is what community is all about.

Update: Improved Conditions Allow Residents to Return Home as Firefighters Continue Wildfire Operations

Duplin County, NC - A passing thunderstorm has provided much-needed rainfall over the wildfire burning in the area of Pope Road, Corinth Church Road, and Earl Davis Road, significantly assisting firefighters in slowing the fire's progression.
While the rainfall has improved conditions, the wildfire is not yet considered fully contained. Personnel with the North Carolina Forest Service will remain on scene throughout the night and coming days to strengthen containment lines, extinguish remaining hot spots, and monitor the area for any flare-ups as weather conditions continue to change.
Based on the improved fire conditions, residents who were previously evacuated may now return to their homes. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and continue monitoring official updates, as changing weather conditions could influence fire behavior. Anyone returning home should remain aware of emergency personnel working in the area and be prepared to follow any additional instructions should conditions change.
Duplin County Public Safety extends its sincere appreciation to the firefighters, EMS personnel, telecommunicators, North Carolina Forest Service personnel, law enforcement officers, and other partner agencies whose coordinated efforts helped protect lives and property throughout this incident. We also thank the affected residents for their patience, cooperation, and support during the evacuation.
Emergency officials will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide additional updates as necessary.

Happy Fourth of July America from Wallace Fire Department! While it’s America’s 250 years of freedom it’s our 100 years of serving our wonderful community! What a great year it is for many, everyone be safe this weekend enjoying it!
