The Manheim Building

The Manheim Building This page is about the Mannheim Building at 604 Bank Street in historic Wallace, Idaho. It was built in 1890 and we purchase it in December 2014. The future.

Wallace, ID is 70 miles of interstate (1 hour) east of Spokane, WA. Why Wallace, Idaho? The list is almost too long to share. We attended the Blues Festival in summer 2014 and fell in love with the people, place and culture. Wallace has a very colorful history including mining, logging and was well known as a place to meet women of "negotiable affection" as late as 1988. Wallace is in North Idaho,

USA. Notice I didn't write Northern Idaho. The culture here is about rugged individualism and yet a very strong sense of community. Wallace epitomizes these values. It is a Red Solo Cup (RSC) friendly town; meaning you can carry your Solo cup where every you want no matter what the contents AND you can ride your ATV on the city streets as per Idaho state law (Not both at the same time...well maybe). The Mannheim Building is currently occupied by Rich Asher's Wallace Antiques on the street level and a renter is happily occupying the 3 bedroom residence on the second floor. Rich will continue to run his amazing antique business for at least 2 more years and we will eventually have the apartment as a weekend get away and possibly vacation rental. We plan on using this page to share our great adventure in one of the coolest places on earth.
