🌕🐺 READY FOR A SPOOKY SAFARI? 🔦👀

When the sun goes down, the zoo comes alive in a whole new way! Join us for our Flashlight Safari and explore the park after dark. Hear the wolves howl, listen for mysterious animal sounds, and watch the Big Cats enjoy their nighttime feeding.

Keep your flashlight ready… you never know whose glowing eyes might be watching from the dark! 👀🌲

🎃 Costumes encouraged

✨ Light-up goodies available in the gift shop
🦘 Meet our baby kangaroo
🚙 Wagons available to rent for little ones for $15

🕕 Ticket booth opens at 6:00 PM
🐾 Guided tours depart at 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM
Please check in at 6:00 for the first tour or 7:00 for the second. Tours last about one hour.

🌙🔦 FLASHLIGHT SAFARI IS BACK! 🐾🌙
The park after dark is a wild adventure!

Join us for a special, zookeeper-guided nighttime tour at the DeYoung Family Zoo. The animals can be a little different after dark, and the whole park comes alive with sounds you may never hear during the day!

Come howl with the wolves, listen for mysterious animal calls, and see our Big Cats enjoy their nighttime feeding. You might even hear a sound and have to guess which animal made it! 🐺🦁

🎃 Costumes are encouraged—come dressed for a fun, spooky night at the zoo!
🔦 Bring your own flashlight or
✨ Light-up swords and other glowing goodies will be available in the gift shop.
🦘 Stop by for a special meet-and-greet with our baby kangaroo!
🚙 Wagons are available to rent for little ones for $15.

DeYoung Family Zoo is now closed for regular business hours until we reopen in May 2027. Thank you to everyone who visited and made memories with us this season! 💚

🦁 THROWBACK THURSDAY 🦁

Samson and Nala 💖 the beloved Barbary lions who were part of our family for 22 years. They were a truly special pair, always loving and affectionate with each other. They reigned over the zoo like a king and queen, delighting visitors young and old. 💖

Losing our patriarchs was heartbreaking. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard Samson’s amazing roar, and we still miss them both dearly.

Our new pride of lions is a true blessing, and we’re so excited to share their story and watch them grow together. Samson and Nala will always hold a special place in our hearts. ❤️
