💕🌷 Stevie & Tulip 🌷💕
In November of 2022, Stevie and Tulip were rescued from an overcrowded Michigan shelter where their mother Petunia gave birth in her cement kennel. Our Rescue President went out to get this little family immediately, and they were placed into an amazing foster home. The following ten weeks, each pup and momma were fully vetted as they were loved on by their foster family. Then, each dog was adopted into loving homes.
In March of 2023, we were contacted by one of the previous adopters. It appeared a puppy named Tulip was having some balance issues and walking. They could not give her the proper vet care she needed so they decided it was in her best interest to return her to Happy Paws.
During that time, we were notified that another littermate named Stevie was having the same issues. Her adopter explained that she too was having difficulty with walking. These adoptive parents of Stevie were so incredibly generous; they opened their hearts and home to Tulip so we could get both girls on the same regiment and figure out what was going on. The two girls were reunited in late March of 2023 and are currently remaining in a home TOGETHER. They love to wrestle, play and snuggle each other.
They both have seen a neurologist, who highly suspects they have an incurable canine genetic disorder. Happy Paws has agreed to cover the costs of BOTH girls to see a Genetic Disorder specialist that travels to Michigan State University for occasional cases. They have an appointment in early June of 2023. We will continue to support our girls and make sure they live out their lives to the best potential and highest quality of life.
In the meantime, we have been searching for ways to aid the girls since their ability to walk has become increasingly difficult. While visiting Kenny at Goods for Goods, a nonprofit which works to help other nonprofits, we were able to find the most perfect doggy stroller for such an amazing rate that we would never be able to pay online. The girls have been enjoying the fresh air and getting to go on long walks without getting tired!
Our rescue appreciates Kenny and Goods for Goods for countless items that we use every single day. This includes dog cages of all sizes, latex gloves, animal carriers, animal pens, and so much more! We are forever thankful for the relationship with this organization that helps us get one step closer to saving more lives by keeping us stocked on amazing supplies for a great cost.
We can't thank you enough Kenny and Goods for Goods!
With much love,
The Happy Paws Haven Co. Family ❤️🐾
