We’re honored to be nominated for Best Nonprofit / Civic Organization in Katy! 🌾
From conserving nearly 20,000 acres within the Katy Prairie Preserve to restoring native prairie habitat, expanding public access, and connecting more people to the land, this work is only possible because of supporters like you.
If Coastal Prairie Conservancy has inspired you, taught you something new, helped protect the places you love, or made a difference in our community, we would be incredibly grateful for your vote.
Voting closes Friday, May 29!

These Northern Bobwhite Quail were recently filmed taking a dust bath at Spread Oaks Ranch, a 5,332-acre working ranch permanently conserved through a conservation easement with the Coastal Prairie Conservancy.

The quail were spotted in a restored section of the ranch that has been replanted with native prairie grasses, highlighting how conservation and habitat restoration directly benefit wildlife across southeast Texas.

The Coastal Prairie Conservancy’s Boots on the Ground: Where Conservation Happens 2026 Gala was a wonderful success on Tuesday, May 5, at Houston Country Club. 260 guests were dressed in western chic attire to celebrate conservation and raise more than $300,000.

The evening was filled with memorable moments when recognizing the evening’s honorees and at the close of the Online Auction.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to our generous underwriters for making the evening possible, including Mustang Cat and the Tucker Family, Matagator Foundation, Ann and Tom Kelsey, ConocoPhillips, Halliburton, Three Oaks Farms, and Yardbird Hunting Club.
