Comfort Keepers Central CT Helping adults live safely, independently, and comfortably at home. We are a locally owned and operated in-home care business based in Wallingford, CT.

Comfort Keepers Central Connecticut offers non-medical in-home care, companionship, personal care, respite care, and transportation, all provided with compassionate personalized support. Our Comfort Keepers provide care throughout CT. Garrett Sullivan purchased Comfort Keepers in 2018 and has brought new life into the business. With strong roots to the local community and their drive to provide their clients with the quality care they deserve differentiates Comfort Keepers from the other agencies. Our goal is not to just place a "body" with a client. We want to match the client with the appropriate Comfort Keeper to best suit their needs. Recently, we enacted tougher background checks through a national company and implemented drug screening for our Comfort Keepers to ensure a quality and safe experience. Over the past year, we have increased pay to our Comfort Keepers to ensure that the great ones stay with us and this also encourages great Comfort Keepers to apply for positions. Aside from a pay increase, we have established a Caregiver of the Month program to acknowledge the fantastic work of our Comfort Keepers. By placing value in our employees, it has created a better experience for the clients, as well as, the Comfort Keepers. Comfort Keepers can assist families and loved ones with companion/personal care, light meal prep/housekeeping, transportation, medication reminders, respite care and 24/7 live in care. If you or a family member has any questions, feel free to reach out to the office or to Garrett directly. We are hands on owners and have a passion for making lives better. We always offer a FREE in home consultation for families. In addition to providing transportation, meal preparation, help with laundry, housekeeping, and bathing and personal care, during the holidays we also offer a helping hand with decorating assistance, getting ready for guests, holiday shopping, gift wrapping, and holiday card addressing. We can help you today!

Independence can look a little different for everyone.

For some people, it means still making breakfast in their own kitchen, keeping up with a favorite hobby, running an errand, choosing what’s for dinner, or simply moving through the day in a way that feels familiar.

Sometimes, staying independent doesn’t mean doing everything alone. It means having the right support in place to keep doing what matters most.

At Comfort Keepers, we focus on helping older adults and adults with disabilities stay safe, confident, engaged, and connected to the routines that make home feel like home.

A little support can make a big difference. 💙

Sometimes a good day comes down to something really simple. ☀️

A favorite song.
Coffee in the perfect mug.
A phone call from someone you love.
Or getting outside for a little while. 😄

At Comfort Keepers, we believe care is about more than completing a list of tasks. It’s also about helping people stay connected to the routines, interests, and little joys that make them who they are. 💙

So we want to hear from you: What’s one small thing that can instantly make your day better?

Tell us in the comments 👇 We may steal a few ideas for our own Friday!

Usually, no. Hospice provides an organized team, scheduled services, and on-call support based on the individual’s hospice plan of care. It does not automatically place a caregiver in the home around the clock.

That distinction matters because someone may still need help between hospice visits with supervision, toileting, bathing, meals, companionship, or simply having another person present overnight.

Ask the hospice team what visits and services are included, what changes would trigger a different level of hospice care, and what the family should plan to cover between visits.

Clear expectations make it easier to build a realistic home-care plan.

Hospice and non-medical home care are not the same service, but families may use both.

The hospice team manages the hospice plan of care. Depending on the person’s needs, that team may include doctors, nurses, social workers, aides, counselors, therapists, volunteers, and spiritual support.

Non-medical home care can add practical help around that plan, including companionship, personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, supervision, daily routine support, and relief for family caregivers.

The key is coordination. Families should make sure everyone understands who handles medical concerns, medications, daily routines, and urgent needs.

When something changes at 2:00 a.m., no one wants to dig through emails, folders, and voicemail to find the right number. Instead, create one simple contact sheet and keep it where the household can find it. In addition to the contact information, add notes on who to contact at each stage.

Every contact sheet will look different, but the information will help keep your loved one safe!

Hospice can bring comfort, dignity, and guidance during an incredibly difficult time—but it can also bring uncertainty, changing needs, and long days for the people providing care.

This week has been a meaningful reminder that families navigating hospice should not have to carry every responsibility alone.

Non-medical home care can work alongside the hospice team by providing personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light household help, and respite for family caregivers. Sometimes, simply having another steady and compassionate person in the home can make a difficult day feel a little more manageable.

If someone you love is receiving hospice care, it is okay to ask for more support. Caring for the caregiver is part of caring for the whole family. Ask us about our hospice and respite services 💛

No. In fact, starting before a crisis often gives everyone more choice.

Families sometimes wait for a fall, hospitalization, medication mistake, or caregiver breaking point because they are unsure whether the need is “serious enough.” But care can begin with a small, specific need and change over time.

Earlier support can help a household establish routines, make the home safer, reduce pressure on one family member, and allow the person receiving care to participate in choosing how help will work.

You do not need to have everything figured out before asking questions.

A conversation now can be easier than a decision made during an emergency. Give us a call or message us, and we can plan together: 203.697.1030

“Home care” can sound vague until you see what it looks like in an ordinary week.

It may mean helping someone start the morning safely, prepare breakfast, get dressed, move around the home, run errands, attend an appointment, keep up with laundry, enjoy conversation, or give a family caregiver time to rest.

The exact support should depend on the person—their routines, preferences, abilities, and goals.

Good care is not simply a list of tasks. It is practical help delivered in a way that protects dignity and keeps the person involved in their own life.

What daily task would make the biggest difference in your household right now?
