Happy International Firefighters day!! Yes in my family firefighting is a family affair lol. It’s wild to think that firefighting didn’t start as a career, or even a job…it was volunteers and families working together to help the community!!

And bam over 500 years later we have full on volunteer firefighters with pump trucks, fire stations, top of the line gear! But even with new training and shiny gear, it all goes back to volunteering!!! We do it for our community! When the page goes off we don’t run away from it, we run head on towards the fire

We had a recent fire where a garbage truck caught fire, he was able to dump the load in open parking lot. Tanker 7 fed Engine 3 to extinguish the fire. Trucking company came with a skid steer to break the pile apart to get to the fire better and to fully put the fire out.

We have about 40 trees left a few cemetery boxes and looks to be Saturday will be our last day. Please try to get there and get your tree. We thank everyone for their visits this year. We enjoy as much as you do.

We have closed down sales for the day due to the weather. We will be working intermittently this week during the evenings if the lights are on, we are open. If not, we’ll be open next Saturday and Sunday from 830 till five.
