🚸 Thank You to Our Crossing Guards! 🚸

As another school year comes to a close, the Wallington Police Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated Crossing Guards for their outstanding service and commitment to the safety of our students, families, and residents.

Whether facing rain, snow, freezing temperatures, or extreme heat, our Crossing Guards are out each day ensuring children arrive at and return home from school safely. Their professionalism, reliability, and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for all they do for our community.

Today, our Crossing Guards were treated to a special appreciation lunch hosted by Chief Eric Kluska and Detective/Lieutenant Joseph Rock. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Wallington PBA Local 321 for generously sponsoring the lunch and helping us recognize the hard work and dedication of these valued members of our team.

Thank you to all of our Crossing Guards for a job well done this school year! We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer! ☀️🚸👏

🎓👏 Frank W. Gavlak School LEAD Graduation & Awards Ceremony 👏🎓

This afternoon, the Wallington Police Department proudly joined Frank W. Gavlak School in celebrating the 6th Grade Class during their Awards Ceremony and LEAD Graduation! 🎉

A special thank you to our dedicated LEAD instructors, Sergeant Nicholas Melfi and Officer Joseph Dec, for their outstanding work throughout this 10-week program, helping students develop the skills and confidence needed to make smart, safe, and responsible decisions. 👮‍♂️📚

We would also like to thank Wallington PBA Local 321 for generously sponsoring a pizza party for the students following the graduation. 🍕👏

Special thanks to the Superintendent, Principal, teachers, and school staff for their continued support and partnership in making this program a success. 🤝🏫

⚽🚔 FIFA World Cup 2026 Security Operations 🚔⚽

Since the start of the FIFA World Cup matches last week, members of the Wallington Police Department have been assisting with security operations in support of this historic international event.

Our officers have worked alongside law enforcement partners from across the region to help ensure the safety of players, staff, residents, and the thousands of fans visiting New Jersey throughout the tournament.

We are proud to have our officers representing the Borough of Wallington and contributing to the extensive security efforts surrounding the world's largest sporting event.

🚧🎓 Traffic Advisory – Wallington High School Graduation 🎓🚧

📅 Thursday, June 18, 2026 🕕 Ceremony Begins at 6:00 PM

Please be advised that due to the Wallington High School Graduation Ceremony, the following road closures and traffic changes will be in effect:

🚫 Main Avenue from Alden Street to Park Row will be closed to all traffic from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

🚗 Main Avenue from Park Row to Midland Avenue will remain open to local traffic only during this time.

🏠 Residents in the area from the High School to Kossuth Street (Reservoir, Orchard, Pulaski, Adamson, Brook, Stein, Park Row, and Kossuth) are advised to use Park Row and Mount Pleasant Avenue to access their homes.

⚠️ Alden Street (from Main Avenue to Mount Cedar Avenue) will have limited access to local traffic only from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

⚽🌎 FIFA World Cup 2026 Comes to New Jersey Today! 🌎⚽

Today, Saturday, June 13, 2026, the world's biggest sporting event continues as Brazil takes on Morocco at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford at 6:00 PM. This marks the first FIFA World Cup match hosted in the New York/New Jersey region during the tournament.

🚗 Residents should expect: • Increased traffic on major roadways throughout the region
• Delays near East Rutherford and surrounding highways
• Increased law enforcement presence and security measures
• Heavier pedestrian and transit activity

🚫 Reminder: The Borough of Wallington is a NO-FLY ZONE for drones/UAS during FIFA World Cup events. Unauthorized drone operations may result in severe penalties, including fines, criminal charges, and confiscation of equipment.

🚔 If you are traveling today, plan ahead, allow extra time, and never drive impaired.
