Attention Town residents,

The Town Of Shawangunk has been having intermittent issues receiving phone calls from Verizon wireless phones.

We have been in touch with our phone carrier, Frontier, and have been informed that they believe that it is a Verizon wireless issue, however they continue to investigate.

AT&T and landlines have been able to get though.

Apologies for the inconvenience while we navigate this issue.

The Shawangunk Transfer Station will be closed tomorrow due to Sewer Department construction.

The intention is for the Transfer Station to reopen Saturday.

Due to the poor air quality forecast for later today, Vision of Wallkill has decided to cancel tonight's Rhythm on the River Summer Concert with DOG PARTY.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. While we know this is disappointing, the health and safety of our attendees, performers, and volunteers is our top priority.

Dog Party has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 20. We look forward to seeing everyone next Thursday for a great evening of music along the Wallkill River!

The wait is almost over! On Saturday, July 11, join your Town of Shawangunk neighbors
to celebrate America's 250th Birthday at Popp Memorial Park (3081 NY-208, Wallkill, NY 12589) from 4 –8 pm for an afternoon of family fun along the beautiful Wallkill River featuring:
🎶 Music and a live DJ
🍔 Delicious food
🎭 Historic reenactments
🎈 Family-friendly activities
🎉 Community celebration

There will be a spectacular fireworks display at 9 pm to end the celebration, if Mother Nature cooperates.
Plan to visit the Historical Society's exhibit featuring historic maps and photographs of local homes that showcase the rich heritage of our community at the Shawangunk Town Hall and the Wallkill Public Library during regular business hours.
Mark your calendar, invite your family and friends, and help spread the word. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our nation's 250th birthday while honoring the history, people, and traditions that make the Town of Shawangunk such a special place to call home. Wear your best George Washington, Betsy Ross, Revolutionary War soldier or nurse, or period costume. We can't wait to celebrate with you! We'll see you Saturday!

Tomorrow Wednesday July 8th, the Rail Trail will be closed as we continue the repaving project in conjunction with the Town of Montgomery. It is possible the trail remains closed on Thursday July 9th.

Please follow all posted signs and instructions so we can safely complete this project.

🚨Vandalism alert🚨

If you see something say something!

Our Municipal Works Supervisor Trevor took a lot of time effort and heart into rebuilding and painting the picnic tables at Garrison Park. Less than a week later, they are already being vandalized.

We want to be able to provide nice things and good resources for our residents, but we can’t keep them nice without your help.

If you or someone you know, witnesses vandalism, please report it to the town police department or somebody at Townhall. We will do whatever we can protect your anonymity.

Together, we can have a Shawangunk we can all be proud of!
