Last night’s Board Meeting was a special occasion for the Walls Police Department as we recognized Chief Jaylin James for 11 years of dedicated service in law enforcement. Chief James was presented with a plaque and commemorative pin by Major David Villalobos in honor of this milestone achievement.
The evening was made even more meaningful with the presence of Sheriff Thomas Tuggle of the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff K.C. Hamp of the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office, both of whom shared words recognizing Chief James’ commitment to public service and leadership. Chief James began his law enforcement career with the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office on May 5, 2015, and attended the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy while Sheriff Tuggle served as director of the academy.
Also joining the celebration was Major Joseph Dawson of the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office, a longtime friend and supporter of Chief James. Chief James’ family was also in attendance to share in this memorable moment.
For the past 11 years, Chief James has remained committed to serving others, building relationships within the community, and leading with professionalism and integrity. The Walls Police Department is proud to celebrate this accomplishment and looks forward to many more years of service to the citizens of Walls.
Congratulations, Chief James, on 11 years of service and dedication to the law enforcement profession.
