This past week, the NC State Board of Education released the 2025-2026 School Performance Grades. High School performance grades take into account different criteria that includes ACT scores, graduation rate, and End-of-Course test scores in Biology, English 2, Math 1, and Math 3, to name a few.

We are proud to announce that Stokes Early College High School students and staff continue to lead the way for Stokes County Schools with an overall School Performance Score of 91 establishing us as an "A" school, and Exceeding Growth expectations designated by the State.

Today, before we celebrated with cake during our extended lunch period, we had a brief assembly outside when our principal, Mr. Durham, made the special announcement of this accomplishment.

We want to thank our students and staff for the effort and hard work they put in to help our school continue to be one of the top schools in the State.

Speaking of Nests, students remember that you will earn Nest Points every day for your Nest group by being present in each of your high school classes.

- Tues, Sep 1 we will have our first college grade check.

- Sat, Sep 5 the Interact Club is having their annual Car Wash fundraiser 8-12 at Advance Auto in King.

- We have several Club Interest Meetings coming up during lunch time this week. Students, we encourage you to get involved to help keep our clubs thriving.

A Little Look Ahead:

- Mon, Sep 7 there will be no school due to the Labor Day Holiday.

- Tues, Sep 8 the Crepes & Creamery Food Truck will be in the college parking lot 8-12 for those who wish to purchase something before school, between classes, or during lunch.

- Thurs, Sep 10 is the final day to order Mums during the Annual Prom Committee Fundraiser. Reach out to a Prom Committee Member or contact Ms. Smith at school to order your mums for the fall season ([email protected]).

- Fri, Sep 11 we will have high school classes as usual; however, for the few students who have Friday college classes, those are canceled for that day.

- Mon, Sep 21 is SECHS Night at Dairi-O in King 5-8pm. 10% of all sales will be donated to SECHS during this time. Join us for dinner and support our school.

- Purchase your copy of the 2026-2027 Yearbook. Order by Oct 31 and get 10% off. The Yearbook covers school events Aug-May, is published in June, and available in July. Find ordering information on our website under “News.” Mr. Clary has a few extra 2025-2026 yearbooks still available. See him if you would like to buy one.

Half of King and Walnut Cove were at the WSHS vs. SSHS football game this evening. We won't talk about the score, but the Falcon Dance Team members at both schools did a great job.
