Ygnacio Valley Library We are the Ygnacio Valley Public Library. All are welcome. Popularly known as the Ygnacio Valley Library, its real name is the Thurman G. Casey Memorial Library.

Thurman Casey was a local business owner who bought 53 acres in Ygnacio Valley in 1940. His wife, Nellie Casey, donated the property for the Thurman Casey Library in 1969. The library was dedicated on September 13, 1975 and it opened to the public on September 15, 1975.

Experience a magical afternoon of music and storytelling!

Join us at the Ygnacio Valley Library for a special performance by the Fratello Marionettes, bringing the beloved Carnival of the Animals to life through the enchanting art of puppetry.

Set to Saint-Saëns’ whimsical score, this delightful, dialogue-free show weaves together three classic tales:
🐷 The Three Little Pigs
🐢 The Tortoise and the Hare
🦢 The Ugly Duckling

Founded in 1942 during World War II, this remarkable chorus has been a vibrant part of the East Bay for more than 80 years—bringing women together through a shared love of singing and spreading joy through music.
