* At 550 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Weatherly, or 9 miles east of Hazleton, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Wind damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.

* Until 500 PM EDT.

* At 102 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across portions of the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 2.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.

Primary threats include...

A couple tornadoes possible

Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter

A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.

near Hazleton, moving southeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
