On May 3rd, about 20 incredible Walpole neighbors laced up their walking shoes and headed into Town Forest. The goal? $5,000. The result? Nearly $7,000 raised and a front-page story in the Hometown Weekly! Every dollar raised goes directly to feeding families right here in Walpole and across Massachusetts through our partnership with Project Bread

We are so grateful — for every walker who showed up, every donor who gave, and this whole community that shows up for one another. You are the reason we can serve approximately 300 families every single week. 💙

A huge THANK YOU to the letter carriers of Walpole and East Walpole USPS for their incredible work during the National Association of Letter Carriers' annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive this past Saturday! 📬❤️

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we received four full racks of food donations. Every single item will go directly to neighbors in need.

This Mother’s Day, we are reflecting on the heartbeat of our community: our moms. 🌸

Whether raising the next generation or caring for our neighbors, mothers are the ultimate architects of compassion. They teach us that love is an action—the act of showing up for one another, especially when times are tough.

At the Walpole Community Food Pantry, we see this spirit every day. We see it in the families who come through our doors to nourish their loved ones, and in the volunteers—so many of them mothers themselves—who give their time to ensure no neighbor goes hungry.

Today, let’s honor the mothers who have shaped our lives by embodying that same spirit of care. What a wonderful night celebrating the heart of the Pantry 💛

On Thursday,May 7th, we gathered for our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner and were reminded (again!) how lucky we are to have such an incredible community.

We heard inspiring words from our beloved Chairman Bill Willoth, welcomed our new Board President Taso Markatos, and enjoyed heartfelt remarks from Joe Weinacht — the heart and engine of our daily operations — including a beautiful poem honoring Bill and what he means to the Pantry.

While Bill has stepped down as president, he continues working tirelessly to help secure a permanent home where we can better welcome and serve our clients.

A wonderful night celebrating our volunteers, hearing heartfelt thanks, and meeting fellow volunteers we may not have known before 💙

We did it! 👟🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Walk for Hunger today. It was a beautiful and chilly day at the Town Forest with a great group of 26 walkers, one sweet baby, and one very energetic dog hitting the trail together!

The Results:
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we didn't just hit our $5,000 goal—we crushed it! We’ve raised over $6,000 in contributions so far, landing the Walpole Community Food Pantry in 22nd place out of more than 270 teams across the state.

Even more exciting? Our local efforts helped Project Bread within striking distance of the the $1 million mark as of today!

The Impact:
Through our partnership with Project Bread, these funds help us reach families across Massachusetts that we otherwise couldn’t. It’s a true testament to the giving spirit of our community and our shared mission to ensure everyone has access to nutritious food.

Thank you to our fundraisers, our donors, and everyone who laced up their sneakers today. We are so proud of what we accomplished together!

🌟 Big news from our Walk for Hunger team!

We've officially surpassed our $5,000 fundraising goal and we're currently ranked 28th out of 270+ teams and are only $321 away from climbing even higher! Every dollar counts, so let's keep going!

If you're joining us tomorrow, Sunday May 3rd at 1:00 PM, meet us behind the Walpole Community Center (Council on Aging). We'll head out on the Rail Trail for about 2 miles of beautiful wooded trails. Walk as much or as little as you like. The Hometown Weekly will be on-site too, so come ready to smile! 📸

Union Congregational Church is a wonderful partner to the WCFP. They allow us to distribute food from their parking lot weekly. A big thanks to them for also running this “Souper Bowl” to our benefit. 💙🥫

** note: we’d love toilet paper & paper towels (I’m sure the church will count it as a non-perishable for the 10 item goal 😉)

We've set a BIG goal for the BIG GAME: Collecting 10 non-perishable items per person! (in honor of .maye of course!). All donations will go to Walpole Community Food Pantry. Go Pats!
