Windsong Woods is an 11 acre wildlife and bird sanctuary located in mid coast Maine. Elizabeth Kellett and her late husband have managed the woods, built their home/shop and provided sanctuary for wildlife, plants and birds since 1987. 7 species of parrots resi

de here, as well as finches, a frill back pigeon, a couple of cats and an elderly pug. Wild birds are fed year round and 2 vernal ponds and a diversity of plant life encourage wild visitors. The seasonal gift shop is now closed and the online gift shop will be going through a renewal so there are no orders taken at this time.

Here’s one of the baskets of onions that I’m letting cure a bit in the sun before I braid them into ropes to hang in my kitchen for winter use. They’ll last until next summer if I don’t eat them all first! I grow them closer together to get smaller onions, which work better for me for cooking for a single person

Momma’s share some seeds with their babies ❤ the squirrels and crows are friends and share a special treat.
The babies grow so fast it’s hard to tell the adults from their little ones, but the young crows still scream for help!
