YOUR BACA COUNTY STORY MATTERS.
While visiting with people at the fair, Steve Doner and I heard plenty of reasons why people weren’t planning to submit a story for Volume II of the Baca County History Book:
“I can’t write.”
“No one wants to hear about my life.”
“I don’t live in Baca County anymore.”
“My family was already in the first book.”
Here’s what we came away thinking: Those are exactly the stories we need.
More than 40 years after the original Baca County History Book was published, we know just how valuable those family stories have become. We also know how disappointing it is to look for a family or individual who was part of Baca County’s story—and discover that nothing was ever written down.
Volume II is our chance to preserve the next chapter.
You don’t have to be a writer. You don’t have to still live here. And your story doesn’t have to be extraordinary. If Baca County was part of your life or your family’s life, your story belongs.
