⚠️ all first responders!

We will be having a First Responders appreciation weekend Saturday September 5th, Sunday September 6th, and Monday September 7th!

All First Responders will get in FREE. Present a credential, such as a physical ID card, training certification, or a signed verification letter and get free admission and family members get in for $7.

First responders are trained professionals who are the first on the scene of an emergency to provide aid, including police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics. The category also includes 911 dispatchers, HAZMAT teams, and rescue personnel! Just bring a credential, such as a physical ID card, training certification, or a signed verification letter.

We thank you and appreciate all that you do and we hope to see you this weekend!

Stay weather aware! Turn Around, Don't Drown!

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are again expected this afternoon, with localized flash flooding possible across the region. Greatest risk for flash flooding will likely concentrate in an area between Savannah to Springfield to Ridgeland, as outlined in red in the graphic. Have multiple ways to receive warnings, and do not drive through flooded waters!

23/August/2026 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift

Incident # 26-07156 - A Ruffin home was heavily damaged in an evening fire Sunday 23-August at 20:27. Engine 1 arrived to the 200 block of Joye St. to find heavy smoke conditions coming from all sides of the doublewide mobile home and flames extending through the roof. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple handlines to the building and two crews worked on the interior until the roof collapsed in the center of the home forcing firefighters to exit the building for a short period. An exterior attacked was executed until the flames were dispelled enough to reenter the building. The fire was mainly in the attic space and had run the entire length of the mobile home. Most of the interior of the home was not damaged until the roof collapsed. The home owner advised they had experienced some electrical problems earlier in the evening but noticed smoke and flames in the attic area approximately two hours later. The two occupants were able to safely exit the structure. Fire crews were on the scene for four and half hours. Water supply was conducted using Tenders. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Engine 1, Engine 4, Engine 18, Engine 26, Tender 1, Tender 4, Tender 7, Tender 18, Tender 26, Tender 27, Medic 1, Medic 7, Medic 18, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 103, Car 115 and Car 118 responded. Fire Chief David Greene served as Incident Commander.

On Friday, August 7, Fire-Rescue hosted a station renaming ceremony pursuant to Fire-Rescue Commission and County Council Resolutions. We are proud to annouce CCFR Station #1 has officially been renamed Colleton County Fire-Rescue Barry W. McRoy Station #1 in honor of retired Fire-Rescue Chief Barry W. McRoy.
