๐Ÿš” Walters Police Department Welcomed visitors to New Police Department Building ๐Ÿš”

Today, we had the privilege of showcasing the new Walters Police Department facility to Congressman Tom Cole, Senator Spencer Kern, and OMPA General Manager John Hans.

We appreciate their interest in our local law enforcement efforts and their willingness to take time out of their schedules to visit the City of Walters. Strong partnerships between local, state, and federal leaders are essential to building safer and stronger communities, and we are grateful for their continued support.

The Walters Police Department and the City of Walters are proud to work alongside such outstanding community partners. We are always happy to host visitors, showcase the progress being made in our community, and discuss opportunities to continue improving services for our citizens.

Thank you for your visit and for your continued commitment to the people of Walters and Southwest Oklahoma.

UPDATE.
Individuals have been identified. Thank you, Walters citizens for your assistance.

๏ฟผ๏ฟผThe individual driving this extended cab white pickup truck chose to use the Kidtopia and Swimming Pool parking lot as their personal racetrack. As you can clearly see in the video, this was not an accident or a momentary loss of control. The driver intentionally performed donuts on public property.

This reckless behavior occurred in an area frequented by children and families and resulted in damage to city property including the pool. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. Similar activity has also been occurring at Sultan Park, causing concern and damage to public areas that are intended for community use and recreation.

The Walters Police Department is actively investigating these incidents and intends to identify those responsible. If you recognize this truck or know who was behind the wheel, please contact the Walters Police Department at (580) 875-3343 or send us a private message. Anonymous tips are welcome.

Let this serve as notice: damaging city property and recklessly operating a vehicle in our parks and public spaces will not be tolerated. Those responsible will be identified, held accountable, and pursued for any criminal charges and restitution that may apply.

Please share this post and help us identify the individual responsible.

๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿšœ Harvest Season Is Here! ๐Ÿšœ๐ŸŒพ

As harvest gets underway across our area, youโ€™ll be seeing more farm equipment and grain trucks traveling our roads.

We ask everyone to please be patient, courteous, and alert. Farmers and truck drivers are working long hours to bring in this yearโ€™s crop, and many of the vehicles they operate travel at slower speeds and require extra room to turn and maneuver.

โœ… Slow down and stay alert
โœ… Allow extra following distance
โœ… Pass only when it is safe and legal
โœ… Be patient when encountering farm equipment on narrow roads

A few extra moments of caution can help prevent crashes and keep everyone safe during this busy season.

Letโ€™s work together to make this a safe and successful harvest for our farming community. Thank you for doing your part!

๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿš” EASTER BUNNY APPREHENDED ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿฐ

Yesterday, as well as Sunday, Walters PD received multiple reports of a suspicious bunny trespassing in citizensโ€™ yards and leaving behind unknown items (later identified as eggs ๐Ÿฅš).

After a thorough investigation and a short foot pursuit, officers successfully took the suspect into custody. The bunny was found in possession of a large quantity of colorful eggs and showed no remorse.

Thankfully, no one was harmed during the incidentโ€ฆ unless you count the parents stepping on eggs in the yard.

All jokes aside, we had a great time at the Easter Egg Hunt and loved seeing our community come out and enjoy the day!

Big thanks to everyone who helped make it a success. ๐Ÿ’™

(The bunny has since been released on a promise to return next year.)
