US Hwy 82 is now open in both eastbound and westbound directions in the Maben/Mathiston area.

Updated on Hwy 82 near Maben. The westbound lane of Hwy 82 is open. The eastbound lane remains closed. Exercise caution when traveling through this area.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling US 82 near Maben due to a traffic incident involving a hazardous material spill. Hwy 82 is temporarily closed between Maben-Starkville and Hwy 15 at Mathiston. Westbound travelers on 82 are advised to detour on Maben-Starkville to Hwy 15 to rejoin 82 at Mathiston. Eastbound travelers on 82 should take Hwy 15 to Maben and then take Maben-Starkville road to Hwy.
