Boston lost a hero last night.

Firefighter Robert “Bobby” Kilduff Jr., a 24-year veteran of the Boston Fire Department, third-generation firefighter, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and father, has passed away.

Officials said his actions helped ensure every resident made it out safely.

The Air Supply Unit and Lighting Plant 2 responded to this morning’s 2nd alarm fire on Autumn Ln in Waltham.
The Air Supply Unit’s custom built cascade system and booster pump were used to fill 45 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) bottles that had been used by firefighters at the fire.

Early this morning, our Auxiliary Firefighters responded with the Air Supply Unit and Lighting Plant 2 to the 2nd alarm fire on Bacon Street in Waltham.

We filled Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) bottles that had been used fighting the fire and provided scene lighting at the fire building to support fireground operations.

This afternoon, Waltham Auxiliary Firefighters responded with the Air Supply Unit to the 2nd alarm fire on High Street and refilled Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) bottles used during firefighting.

The West Springfield Fire Department recently responded to a vehicle fire that injured two people. Investigators believe it occurred when one of them used a lighter while refueling a vehicle on the side of the road.
