Hello All!
Peace, Conflict, and Coexistence Studies (PAX) is pleased to announce that we are accepting proposals for the 2021 Davis Projects for Peace grant. All Brandeis undergraduate students are eligible to apply for this $10,000 grant.

The Davis Projects for Peace initiative encourages students to design grassroots projects for peace anywhere in the world that they will then implement during the summer of 2021.

Application Deadline:
January 14, 2021 at 9:00 pm EST
Interested students are strongly encouraged to contact Prof Gordie Fellman and Lauren Jordahl to discuss their proposal prior to submission.

If you are not registered, Vote.org will walk you through the registration process, help you locate your polling place and even let you sign up for election reminders.

If you are planning to request an absentee ballot and/or vote by mail Vote.org can help you with that, too.

For those registered to vote in Massachusetts, early voting begins October 17. More information on early voting dates and locations can be found on the Secretary of the Commonwealth website.

Developed through a UDR initiative, we have compiled a list of recommendations from our Brandeis faculty and staff on ways in which the Brandeis community can better understand, contextualize, and analyze racism and its multifaceted impact on Black Americans. We encourage all students to use these recommendations as tools to be more intentional and stronger allies, community members, and agents of change.

Despite the university's suspension of course evaluations for this spring, students can still nominate outstanding professors for future teaching awards. - Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer ’69 and Joseph Neubauer Prize for Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring ($5,000 prize)

- Michael L. Walzer ’56 Award for Teaching ($2,500 prize)

Prior recipients of an award are not eligible to receive the same award twice. 2020 Teaching Award recipients will be announced to all in May.

Nominations for these award can only be made via this form. Comments on course evaluation forms are not considered to be nominations, although course evaluation comments are carefully read by the selection committee.

Do you want academic credit for your summer or fall internship?

SJSP 89a: Social Justice, Social Policy Internship
Class meets every other Wednesday night 6:30-9:30pm

If you are interning this summer or plan to do so in the fall in a setting related to social justice, social service, social policy, or social research, you could be eligible for academic credit through the Program in Social Justice and Social Policy.

Class will focus on connecting with other like-minded students dedicated to social justice inside and outside of the classroom.

Interested in teaching young Waltham students about a topic you're passionate about? Register for Splash!

SPLASH is a day when middle school and high school students are invited to come to Brandeis to take classes taught by the students of Brandeis University. The classes are on any topic that the teachers are passionate about, with categories ranging from art, science, math & computer science, humanities, science, and miscellaneous (anything else). Examples of previous classes have been astrophysics, chemistry of baking, computer science, quidditch and more (see attached for a catalog of previous classes taught during SPLASH)! SPLASH! 2019 will take place on November 16th from 12pm-5pm this year.

This is a great opportunity to gain community service hours, teaching experience and share your passion! In addition, it’s only a one-day commitment!
