Treasurer Donna D'Agostino Hughes and I recently presented the Patriotic Citizen Award to Ralph Amelia who is the first Waltham commercial building owner to receive the award for flying US flags atop both of his Moody Street buildings.

Ralph came to the US with his family when he was a child and became a US citizen at age fourteen. As a young adult he served in the Massachusetts National Guard and later in the US Army.
His spirit of sacrifice, loyalty, commitment and love for his country is the very reason that he's is deserving of this latest Patriotic Citizen Award.

Treasurer Donna D'Agostino Hughes and I (Sally Collura) delivered a check to the Bedford VA volunteer services offices on Friday.
The check was in memory of Mac Moran, Ed Burke and Bill Durkee.

Our latest Waltham residents to receive the VFW Auxiliary Patriotic Citizen award was presented this week to Bruce and Diane Palhm and Rosalind and son Richard Govoni.

Very special thank you to Rick Pizzi and his team for preparing delicious sandwiches, along with chips, beverages and Italian cookies for our special event today. The table looked great thanks to our sister and Chaplain Linda Henry.

A wonderful day at VFW Post 10334 honoring our first Auxiliary President Joan Winterkorn with a plaque for outstanding service and Dotty Sullivan Collura's name is the first plate. Joan and Dotty weren't just friends and sisters of the auxiliary, there were family.
Thank you to all who attended this special occasion and thank you to our Mayor for attending as well as a special thank you to the members of the VFW for attending and also for their help today as well.

I would be remiss if I did not share details of this special day:
Thanks goes to Post 10334 Auxiliary members for approving the funding for the plaque and Lubin's Awards on Lexington Street for doing such a great job of matching the plaque perfectly to the VFW Post's plaque.

We auxiliary members appreciate and thank Commander Bob Joyce, Quartermaster Wayne N Henry, Past Commander Jeff Fogg and their members, Auxiliary President Sarah Hankins, Chaplain Linda Henry, and Treasurer Donna D'Agostino Hughes, for arriving early to set up and clean up for the event.
