We had the opportunity to tour the Be Pro Be Proud Truck at LCCA today, and what a great experience it was! It was an excellent opportunity to learn more about the skilled trades and the many career opportunities available to our students.

Thank you, Mr. Van Horn, for the invitation and for allowing us to be a part of this experience. We truly appreciate the opportunity to support our students and expose them to career paths that can lead to a bright and successful future!

We hope everyone in the Liberty County School System has a fantastic first day back! We would like to welcome all students, teachers, and staff back for a new school year. A special thank you to Lyman Hall Elementary School, Bradwell Institute, and Liberty County Career Academy for welcoming us and allowing us to be part of your first day back. It was a pleasure to see the excitement, energy, and school spirit as everyone kick off another great year.

School starts tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4, 2026, and we encourage everyone to help keep our students, families, and school staff safe.

As students return to the classroom, drivers should expect increased traffic around schools, neighborhoods, bus stops, and crosswalks during the morning and afternoon hours. Please slow down, stay alert, avoid distractions, and watch carefully for children crossing roadways.

School Bus Safety – Georgia Law

Georgia law requires drivers to stop for a school bus when it is stopped to load or unload passengers and is displaying its flashing red lights and stop arm.

On two-lane roads, traffic in both directions must stop.
On multi-lane roads without a median, traffic in both directions must stop.
On divided highways with a raised median, unpaved median, or physical barrier, only vehicles traveling behind the school bus must stop. Vehicles traveling
in the opposite direction do not have to stop.
Never pass a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing unless the roadway is divided by a physical barrier or qualifying median as allowed by law. Violations can result in significant fines and, more importantly, place children at serious risk.
Let's all do our part to ensure every child arrives at school and returns home safely. Please slow down, stay attentive, and make safety your top priority as the new school year begins.

Have a safe and successful school year.
